Gonso goes digital with DiBike: Veloconnect connection for retailers

Fachhandel digital, 18 July 2025 |
Sportswear brand Gonso (Maier Sports GmbH) now offers its retailers a standardized Veloconnect interface. This enables product data, stock levels, and orders to be accessed directly from the ERP system – without manual reconciliation.
The technical foundation is provided by the Veloconnect server from Campudus, DiBike’s official implementation partner. With this go-live, Gonso underlines its commitment to partnership-based digitalization in retail: processes become more efficient, data quality improves, and the competitiveness of brick-and-mortar retailers is strengthened.

By involving DiBike, Veloconnect is strategically advanced as an industry standard and linked to future projects such as leasing, recall management, or the digital product passport. At the same time, cooperation with BIDEX provides retailers with harmonized master data and more precise product group structures.

BIDEX standard becomes part of DiBike

Frankfurt am Main, 26 June 2025 |
At the ongoing Eurobike in Frankfurt, BIDEX and DiBike announced the next step towards stronger digitalization of the bicycle industry. With the signing of a framework agreement by Lars Röttger (BIDEX), Nick Becker (DiBike), Burkhard Stork (ZIV – Die Fahrradindustrie), and Uwe Wöll (VSF), BIDEX GmbH has entered into negotiations as a limited partner of DiBike.
The industry associations ZIV and VSF had recently launched DiBike to further develop and consolidate digital standards in a joint company – including the established Veloconnect standard.

The BIDEX product group standard is already a proven reference for product categorization and article data in the industry. It provides the foundation for efficient collaboration between retailers and manufacturers.
“With this agreement at Eurobike, we are sending a clear and open signal for joint data standards across the entire industry,” says Nick Becker, Managing Director of DiBike. “For existing BIDEX customers, nothing changes – but they now gain the additional assurance that the standard is future-proof,” emphasizes Lars Röttger, Managing Director of BIDEX GmbH.
With the integration of the BIDEX standard into DiBike, its joint advancement and long-term safeguarding is ensured for the benefit of the entire bicycle industry.

VSF and ZIV join forces to digitalize the bicycle industry

Marburg/Berlin, 15 May 2025
With notarized certification, VSF (Verbund Service und Fahrrad) and ZIV – Die Fahrradindustrie founded the DiBike Digitize Bike Business Group GmbH & Co. KG. The new company will operate under the short name DiBike with the clear mission of strategically advancing and structurally strengthening the digitalization of the bicycle industry.

Both associations hold equal shares in the managing GmbH of the new entity. The name was chosen deliberately: DiBike stands for the consistent digitalization of the bike business. Nick Becker, former project lead, will serve as Managing Director.
Veloconnect was a major milestone. But digitalization doesn’t stop at one successful interface – that’s where it really begins. With DiBike, we are taking the first step towards a new level: technically solid, practice-oriented, future-proof, and broadly supported by the industry,” says Uwe Wöll, Managing Director of VSF.

The GmbH & Co. KG structure allows additional stakeholders to be integrated: other associations, retail and supplier groups, as well as platforms from Germany and across the EU. Sponsors and market supporters are also invited to participate.
A core focus of DiBike is the further development and safeguarding of the Veloconnect standard, already established as the digital interface between industry and retail. Today, more than 25 ERP systems and around 120 suppliers support Veloconnect. The system is already largely compatible with European standards – an important basis for international expansion.

The bicycle industry is globally networked. With DiBike we now have the opportunity to establish a European standard that can also connect internationally. It creates a central platform to develop practical solutions for the entire sector,” adds Burkhard Stork, Managing Director of ZIV.

Beyond interfaces, DiBike addresses further digital challenges: optimizing ERP systems, integrating leasing and insurance processes, developing practical solutions for recall management, and meeting digital information obligations. Regulatory requirements such as the Supply Chain Act, the Digital Product and Battery Passport, or the EU Deforestation Regulation are also central to DiBike’s work.
