BIDEX Basics – Standardized product and product group structure for the bicycle industry

BIDEX Basics creates a common language for product and company data: Product groups, attributes and brand directories - coordinated with market participants, compatible with Veloconnect and common ERP/POS systems.

BIDEX Basics builds on existing BIDEX standards - such as the product groups, the attribute system, and brand directory - which have become established in the bicycle industry in recent years.

These proven foundations are now being bundled, structured, and further developed in a new framework: BIDEX Basics.
What is new is that maintenance and further development are no longer the sole responsibility of BIDEX, but are carried out jointly with DiBike and the industry. This creates an open, future-proof foundation that integrates the entire market and is compatible across Europe.

Since 2025, BIDEX Basics have been officially provided as open industry standards and are continuously maintained by both partners – for greater clarity, stability, and reliability in data communication.
